Hello I am attempting to install gnu backgammon onto fedora core 4.
I am new to linux and nothing seems to be going right. I have downloaded the source files and attempted to install
those, but upon running configure (configure --without-gtk --without-gtk2
--without-x), was told I need glib. I’ve tried multiple versions of
glib but everytime I attempt to run the gnubg configure, I receive the
following error: checking for GLIB - version >= 2.0.0... *** 'pkg-config --modversion glib-2.0' returned 2.10.3, but
GLIB (2.12.9) *** was found! If pkg-config was correct, then it is best *** to remove the old version of GLib. You may also be able
to fix the error *** by modifying your LD_LIBRARY_PATH enviroment variable,
or by editing *** /etc/ld.so.conf. Make sure you have run ldconfig if that
is *** required on your system. *** If pkg-config was wrong, set the environment variable
PKG_CONFIG_PATH *** to point to the correct configuration files no *** You must have installed Glib1 or Glib2 in order to compile GNU Backgammon please help! I’ve spent 2 full days trying to
install gnubg with no success L Kevin ps: the reason I’m running that particular configure
line is because I only want the CLI |
