[Bug-gnubg] permissions problem?

I've got the gnubg installed under windows and gentoo linux. With
windows, I can just click the icon and it runs.

Under gentoo linux I have to do Start>run command>options> then select
run as different user, input a root pwd, and then apply gnubg to the
command box.

so, does anyone know which files it is, that I need to modify the
permissions for so I can run it as user

p.s. Oh and apart from just installing it (it's in gentoos portage tree
of packages) what else would I have to set up to run the 3d boards etc??
