Hmmmm.......

Sounds to me like this bug will be hard to catch. At least I can't
reproduce it here. I don't believe there is anything wrong with the texture
files, since these are only used for the 3d boards.

This is not a solution, but....
Can you try the simplified build I made some months ago. It's a striped
down version which doesn't include 3d board nor python support nor anything
fancy. It's a full install setup archive, and you can find it here:
