When you export the match into html, the html file contains links to the
html images (which is set in the export settings). This defaults to
"html-images", so normally the images will be picked up from the
sub-directory of the location of the exported html match file.
You are right that exporting new images will change the size of the
board in exported matches - as long as you export them to the same place.
Also, in the html-images folder there are .png images.
The .png files are the html images.
You have to make sure that you export the html images to the same
location as the html match export expects to find them. Hope that makes
sense, it's much simpler than I've made it sound...
