[Bug-gnubg] Intel C compiler |

Hi,
I compiled gnubg with Intel's latest C compiler for GNU/Linux (8.0) to
see whether this makes any difference in gnubg's performance:
(AMD Athlon XP 1800, 512MB RAM)
icc 8.0 (-O2)
~ 19500 static evaluations / sec
gcc 3.2.3 (-O2 -mcpu=athlon-xp -march=athlon-xp)
~ 16700 static evaluations / sec
I wonder if the difference would be bigger if it ran on a machine with a
"real" Intel processor.
icc for Linux is free (as in free beer) for non commercial use, but
obviously not free (as in free speech).
/Martin
