I've just installed it on a new machine and it installed, generated bearoff 
dbs and ran fine.
I then tried the command line interface from the start menu and get this 
warning message:

Your version of GNU Backgammon does not support
reading match equity files.
Fallback to default Zadeh table.
'import site' failed; use -v for traceback
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "gnubg.py", line 52, in ?
    import os.path
ImportError: No module named os.path
Your version of GNU Backgammon does not support

Fallback to default Zadeh table.


I guess this means the cli version was built without xml and probably python?
