I don't know exactly what you mean, but you can configure the interface
with "/sbin/ifconfig" as root. An example: ifconfig eth0 123.456.789.1
netmask 255.255.255.0. On redhat you can also use the config-tool
"redhat-config-network-gui" or redhat-network-config-tui". If you only
want to bring down the interface it's "ifdown [interface].
