Yes, I agree with Nardy that yellow/green is preferable, and with Ian that
some intermediary between black and white might be best. I also think that
line or shading detail within the gnu is a good idea.
I have updated the samples at ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/gnubg/logos/ with
those thoughts in mind. I added some very coarse detail to the gnu in
the bitmaps (obviously a real logo will have to be drawn by somebody with
more artistic/anatomic talent than me). Similar detail could be added
to the postscript file, but it doesn't seem worth it yet.
