Sorry, I should have written "allowed by POSIX" instead of "required by POSIX", as POSIX allows "-" to be treated as either stdout or a file named "-".
Anyway, we don't need to (and shouldn't) change uuencode's implementation, as the usual GNU convention is to treat "-" as stdout in cases like these.
