I don't recall any of the mail programs ever sending stdin as an
attachment. The mailx command is a very old one and predates the MIME
standards. Certainly the current behavior of putting stdin into the
body of the message is correct regardless.

In mailx the -a option usually specifies additional headers. (At
least in the BSD version.) However that option isn't standardized.
Other versions may do something different.
