Hello Stefan,

Two things when you report a bug, please:

  1) Please be precise. You told the version of xgettext, good. You told
     the platform, good. Please also show the warning message from xgettext.
     And please show a reproducible example. How do you expect someone to
     investigate a supposedly wrong behaviour if you don't tell how to
     reproduce it?

  2) Please don't set a "Reply-To" field when writing to a mailing list.
     People are supposed to answer you with the mailing list in CC. Anything
     that disturbs this fundamental communication rule is unwelcome.

By definition, a warning does not change the exit code. Maybe it was an
error and you thought it's a warning.
