I think colorizing output by default is a HUGE MISTAKE!!!
Far too often, someone decides that yellow on black is really nice,
or purple on white is really cool.  Then someone else decides that
a different background is better and you have yellow on white or
purple on black.  The hapless user then has to become an expert
on figuring out how to turn the damn coloring off or change foreground
without changing background.  I HATE IT.   DO NOT DO IT.
Optional colorization is just fine.
