FWIW, config.rpath is also available through gnulib cvs.

We keep it in sync there automatically.

The m4 files Bruno mentions are there too.

    So in order to keep all those little files in sync, 

I wrote a kludgy little script to keep files up to date between
distributions.  See config/srclist* in gnulib cvs.

I don't know if this will actually be less trouble than doing what
you're already doing, but I just thought I'd mention it.
