You're in the right neighborhood, but it's quite a bit more
complicated than that. For one thing, fastmap is merely an
optimization used in regular expression matching; it is not a complete
representation of the r.e. For more info, I'm afraid you'll have to
study the code carefully on your own, as we don't normally have time
to conduct tutorials on it.
