grep 2.5 on Linux RedHat 8.0

Using RedHat 8.0 on a laptop PC, I have created a test file named 
"tester", with this single line in it:

   Share

I then compile grep 2.5, and do this:

   src/grep 'S[A-Z]' tester

and grep reports that the line matched.  The error does not occur with
SuSE on Solaris or PC, grep version 2.4.2
