Subject: | gzip problem |

I have gzip 1.2.4 running on two IBM AIX 4.3.1 servers. I've got a file that was zipped up on system 1 and I am able to unzip it with no problems. When I ftp it to system 2 and try and unzip it I get the following error.
# gzip -d AR.gz
gzip: AR.gz: unexpected end of file
The file is 300 MB before I compress it and 55 after. Any ideas what could be causing this problem?
Also.. on another note, I'm compressing my data before I write it to tape each night and I am using gzip with no options. Is there an option I can use that would be more reliable than straight gzip or is what I'm doing sufficient?
Thanks...
