daytime doesn't run on my sustem, ie. matsrv.math.cas.cz,
but you can reach smtp or ftp on it.
The only system with daytime I was able to find is
atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz . This system also runs smtp and ftp.
But it's possible that the system is protected by a firewall
which doesn't let you in.
Hope this explains it,
