Evenin',
I've been going through some old and new grep bugs that have been
reported via the Debian bug system. For a full list of these bugs
please see [1]. All of these apply to grep version 2.5.1.
Here is a list of issues I've been looking at:
1) The documentation for the -v option does not talk about how the
return status of the command is affected.
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=158134
2) fgrep -w fails when a subset follows a superset string
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=195922
3) A missing fflush causes grep to fail give no output in some cases
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=153980
4) An assertion is triggered with the following grep:
echo abc | egrep '(.*)(.*)(.*)\3\2\1'
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=186568
5) The --devices option does not work on FIFOs
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=198846
Thanks,
ryan
