Hello Jori,
re your latest bug reports about pcre in grep.
Again, I tend to put this problem off, as --perl-regexp is a new feature,
so it can be somewhat unstable.
Then, grep is a line-oriented tool. So I'm afraid it has yet to be
carefully thought out what (?m) and (?s) should do.
Ans as grep is line-oriented, it supposes that the last line also ends
with a newline. If there is no newline at the end of the last line,
it's not, stricly speaking, a text file.
That said, I'd like to thank you again for your bug reports.
I won't forget them and I'll look at it eventually. Unfortunately, it'll
take some time. (In case you or your students wanted to submit patches,
it'd be _very_ welcome.)
Have a nice day,
Stepan Kasal
