problems with binutils-2.14 on sparc-sun-solaris

Dear Maintainers,

I have two Sun Ultrasparc machines (Sun E250) running Solaris 8 and
Solaris 9 respectively.

When I try to build gcc (3.2.3 or 3.3, doesn't matter) with binutils-2.14
the build fails with a linker error.

Here is the excerpt of the logfile from the gcc3.2.3 build:

The build works fine using binutils-2.13.2.1. I also do not have problems
with binutils-2.14 on i386 machines running FreeBSD and Linux.

I'd appreciate any help to resolve this issue.
