Hi,
I've just installed tar-1.13 and am having problems accessing remote tape
devices. The error message I get is:
sh: Unknown host
rsh: connection failed
./tar: Cannot open address@hidden:/dev/tape: I/O error
./tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
The "tar" routine which came with the system (IRIX 6.5) doesn't not have
this problem so I believe it's not a problem with permissions unless
tar-1.13 uses a different mechanism to verify access. Can you help?
