about making gettext

Hello, way into the make of gettext I encounter an error:

conv -liconv -lc -lc -install_name  
/usr/local/lib/libgettextlib-0.11.dylib 0.0
gcc: 0.0: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [libgettextlib.la] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory 
`/Network/Servers/localhost/Users/beachboy/Desktop/gettext-0.11/lib'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

I honestly don't know what this is, or why it happens. Any help is 
greatly appreciated.
