strip/dumpbin problems

I run strip on my libutil.dll, and then I use dumpbin /headers libutil.dll 
to see what's been changed, dumpbin gives an error:

: invalid file or disk full: cannot seek to 0x4CC000

Is strip writing the headers incorrectly and if so is there any way this can 
be fixed?  It happens on any .dll I strip.
