ld reports a bug

Hi all,

  I'm cross compiling/linking stuffs and ld dies with the following
  message :

mipsel-cass-ecoff-ld -o jpeg -T ldscript reset exception demux.o iq.o 
newfast_idct_fix.o tg2.o vld.o huffman.o libu.o parse.o thzz.o zz.o idct.o 
main.o table_vld.o utils.o -L./ -lhandler -lchannel -lpthread -lc

make: *** [jpeg] Error 1

   Here I am, reporting!

   I'm using gcc 3.0.2 on a linux box (i686-linux-pc-gnu) with
   target=mipsel-cass-ecoff (a generic r3000 little endian mips).

   I'm using binutils-2.11.2, configured for the same target (as
   expected).
   
   Attached is a tarball with the object files and a makefile and a
   linker script.
   Note that reset and exception where generated using ld -r
   All other files and libraries were build using gcc and the
   binutils.

P.S : Moreorless the same thing worked using gcc-2.8.1 and
      binutils-2.8.1, so I can live with this problem :)
