Question/Problem with GNUgcc |

Hi there,
My name is Majid Chavoshi, and I just accepted a job with SAIC Information
Services as a Jr. SysAdmin. I have the following scenario, see if you can
help me with it. I would appreciate any help as it would help me a great
deal with my new job.
A previously installed 'gcc' existed on the system from 3-4 years ago. Not
knowing that, I installed 'GNUgcc 2.95.2' on the same system a few days ago.
Now, when I do 'which cc' as root I get '/usr/ucb/cc' and when I do 'ls -l
/usr/ucb/cc' I get a date stamp of 'Jul 15 1997'.
1- How would I know if my 'cc' command is coming from my newly
installed 'GNUgcc 2.95.2' or from the previously installed 'gcc'.
2- Did my new install overwrote all files from the previous install?
Finally, I wrote a small test c program, Hello World, and when I did 'cc
test.c' it gave me the following error:
/usr/ucb/cc: Language optional software package not installed.
You can either reply to this email or email me direct at
address@hidden Many thanks in advance, and have a nice weekend.
Regards,
Majid Chavoshi
