Ah, yes! The BSD thing... well I'm not on BSD im on Solaris 8. Kinda
strange that I needed these things. no?


OLD MESSAGE:

I have libiconv installed on my ULTRA SPARC 10. The Libs are in
/usr/local/lib and the includes are in /usr/local/include. Interestingly
enough, I still had to hack the /<src path>/gettext-<version>/intl/Makefile 
to explicitly include -I/usr/local/include and -L/usr/local/lib. Without
these, the compile was failing with the following error: 
ld: fatal: library -liconv: not found
ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to 
.libs/libgnuintl.so.1.0.1
make[2]: *** [libgnuintl.la] Error 1
