Status: In Progress => Wont Fix
Open/Closed: Open => Closed

Follow-up Comment #2:
This bug is in gettext and has already been fixed.
The bug only manifests itself on MacOS.
So the onus is on the MacOS packagers, either to recent gettext, or to work
around the bug some other way.
It seems there is nothing for us to do here.
