Follow-up Comment #7, bug #33483 (project pspp):

Harry,

Can you try the attached patch (against gnulib).  It should fix the location
of the tempdir under windows.  Can you make sure it behaves how windows users
would like, even when no TEMP variable is set - I've coded it to fallback to
/Windows/Temp which I think is common for windows.  Perhaps you know better. 
If you have any suggestions, please add them.

When we've got this patch working optimally, I'll submit it to gnulib.

This doesn't fix the not-being-deleted issue.  We'll deal with that later.
