Follow-up Comment #1, bug #23555 (project pspp):

I can't reproduce this.

When I run it with 0.6.0 I get a warning: "warning: BEGIN DATA: Partial case
discarded.  The first variable missing was var1."

and the data file looks like:

VARIABLES var1  var2    var3
============================
a       b       c       1
2       3       d       e
