There was really nothing left to tell what it might have been, although a department store was a safe bet. While we were talking, Chris mentioned about a building next door that was supposed to have some kind of sub-basement in it.
Onlyin some random cases this fails and throws an error.
On the plus side, the latest set of improvements to machjust help a huge bunch. If they said they did mind, though, we pretty much wouldn't be able to do it. I'm no chicken, but that was way too close of a brush with death for me. While we were talking, Chris mentioned about a building next door that was supposed to have some kind of sub-basement in it.
As we were heading out, she was just coming into the room, and we chatted with her a bit.
So, it looked like my plan for doing it safely wasn't going to work. I'm no chicken, but that was way too close of a brush with death for me.
It doesn't help that I'm constantlydistracted by other things to do as well. I had no intention of running into some random homeless person or looter in a dark abandoned mall. She was a professor that had been working on a large canvas painting of the inside of the plant. I was completely shocked.
Hiccup and I talked about whether we should just go into the schoolhouse anyway, or whether we should ask those people if they minded us going in there first. They had us pose for a few shots on the edge of the roof. And other than a few boards missing from the ceiling, the whole room was in great shape. My little near-death experience had left me pretty shaken up, and I'm usually pretty unflappable.
And let me just say, because it's absolutely the truth, that I have NEVER been that scared in my life, not even close.
The first floor wasn't in too bad of shape, but the second floor looked considerably worse when we got there.
We followed the crowd around to where a couple dozen people or so were standing next to the police tape.
For the most part, the floors were completely empty. I was determined to keep exploring the rest of the day anyway, but I really just wanted to go back to our room and lie down.
I could also see that the chamber continued on farther ahead and went around a corner, and I could hear water dripping heavily somewhere ahead. It wasn't a basement, because the walls were natural rock and the chamber looked to be manmade and mined out.
It looked to be some kind of old industrial building from the inside, and someone seemed to be renovating it. I felt sort of famous.
Sure enough, there was a fairly large underground chamber.
That was fine with me.
I added some error handlingfor these cases. On bugs like these it's best to work from the outside in,and first fix the bugs at the top of the stack.
I just collapsed on the ground and lay there for about five minutes.
I didn't reallylook into it much until I really got annoyed and decided to read some logs.
