well... we cant do anything with the current server setup, so for now well have to keep the circle of developers quite small.

perl ;-)

But how will we stop somebody simply writing their own perl script to insert
an article? Can we lock the db somehow so that it cannot accept delete
statements, and requires a certain password or authentication to insert?
We don't want people to be able to add articles as and when they wish
otherwise we lose the point of moderators etc.
