Hi there!

I have a few things to say about translations:

- We should think about translating not only alnguage but also units. This would could be done automatically. (Conversion from miles to kilometers e.g.) - How do we solve the problem of different translations on the same subject? (translation of heritage into "Abstammung" or "Herkunft") This is especially a problem if it is a heading which should give the two articles the same structure.
- What do we do about puns or other things that can't be translated?
- How do we handle linked articles? Links should also be language specific, because it is not neccessary to explain to a german that the word kindergarden is from german. - What do we want to do about the country stuff? Not every country is accepted by every other country. So how to adress this in a translation? Or stuff that has to be changed very much because the reader of the translation otherwise doesn't get the meaning?

One good point to make translation easier would be to give articles a little bit of structure. The advantage of this would be that we only would have to translate date of birth once, and it would effect every entry of a person. It would also help us to get a somehow consistent layout, and to get the guys who have to do the categorisation a little bit out of trouble. It would also help the first author to get a structure for his article. It would also be a good thing to have something like a translation guide, to help people to translate from languages in which they are not perfect to their first language.

Ciao

Oli
