I would probably be most in the position to feel this way, but
I don't.  I don't think this is the case at all.

I also don't think GNE is dead, or needs to be dead.

Keep in mind that RMS's long term vision here is bigger than
any single project or part of a project could encompass.  In a
way, it is a lot like GNU/Linux or GNU/Hurd.  Different parts
of the bigger picture get built at different rates.  Eventually
someone will write a kernel to put the whole thing in practice.

I certainly don't think this is warranted.  I mean, I don't have
the impression that anything wrong was done, other than some
miscommunication and confusion.
