I have to agree. I think perhaps GNE was destined to
give Nupedia a kick up the backside from GNU, and thne
to slowly die away. But I think we potentially have a
partnershiop between GNE and Nupedia that we can use.
The way I see it, to continue we need to do the
following things:

1) Secure some backing for servers outside of GNU, so
we can have mirroes for dodgy content etc. and in case
GNU drop us alltogether.

2) Sort out what we have collected already in terms of
articles and systems.

3) Make it clear who is doing what behind the scenes
(such as Chris Mahan's submission form) and lay out a
plan of action for them/us all so we can have some
systems to look at and compare a month or two down the
line.

4) Sort out once and for all the censorship policy
(whatever Jimmy says, not allowing a type of article
on your resource is censoring your resource). Do we
all agree that the "informative" one will do for now?
(with the possibility of making it more free in the
future... see below).

5) I can't think of any more, but 5 is a nice number
to finish on.

If we can get all that going, we should be able to
keep this project alive.

Oh and on the freedom thing, I have emailed a couple
of Internet Freedom groups asking them about all the
legal issues we've come up with, so we might be able
to approach this from as much an educated standpoint
as an emotional one.

And finally, can people stop talking about certain
topics being "uneducated" or "rubbish", because its
all subjective. Some would say if I wrote an article
damning US foreign policy for being of a terrorist
nature, many would say that is revisionist rubbish.
Lets not get caught up in allowing rubbish, but at the
same time considering it to be rubbish. We must be
open, and approach every article as a valid peice of
work.
