I think the backend should be entirely un-classified.
It should merely be a giant repository of information
with some sort of fields in the data that will allow
it to be classified later, like a "topic" field. This
would allow us to have multiple front ends should we
need them, and let us change the main frontend and
organisational system around a lot without having to
spend hours going through all of the articles. We
don't want to get ourselves stuck in a system that
could soon become redundant.
As a frontend though, the Yahoo! idea would be good,
especially if you could do things like search only in
specific categories etc. We'd need a whole team of
people classifying though, it would be a huge job.
