No, I'm thinking of something different here...

It's useful sometime to reference an author rather than a comprehensive
set of citations.

It would also be needed to allow the GDFL to work properly e.g. when
refering to an existing author in GNE who has written may entries on a
topic, but too many to cite a specific set of entries.
