Make all references internal. Make them by referring
to the UID of the article. Then every time an article
is removed (for whatever reasons we deem good in the
future) you run a perl scritp to find any other
articles linking to that UID (easy to do in the index
database) and remove the links. Problem quickyl
solved. Yuo couldn't do this with external links,
which is another good reason not to allow them (along
with them changing to non-free stuff, etc).
