Ok Rob and I have been thinking about the database +
repository setup, and we have one question. I know
Hector's friend is working on the cgi to output the
submissions in a plain text ASCII format. I'm assuming
that will then be processed and put into the index
database + respository (and in the future it should go
from the form straight to the database + repository).
Now there's been a lot of talk of having markup in the
text itself (for instanc <ship> or <date> etc.). How
do we intend to get these into the text? You can't get
a perl script to do it, it's impossible (how would
perl be able to tell a ship name from a place name or
in fact any other word?) and I would advise against
getting the author to put them all in... is it going
to have to be done by hand or something?
Just need to know this so we can set it all up right
to handle whatever processing we'll need.
