I did my big burst of campaigning this morning, then I took a long lunch.
At this point, the decision making is out of my hands and so I will just
stop campaigning and try to work for friendship no matter what Hector
decides to do.

The primary difference would be whether GNE's software contains
or is concerned with a migration path for the existing project.
If we are separate, it probably will not.  If we are together,
then migration will be a primary concern, because we would all
be migrating OUR (the entire community) system.

It's not impossible that this might happen if we are separate, 
of course.
