Well, we can keep doing our work. The FSF decided to keep this project
alive, and I'll work on it.

RMS: Thank you.  That is what we should do, because it is a way that
everyone involved can feel good enough about it to participate.

    But if Hector's project is going to be an _encyclopedia_, in the sense
    of accepting only encyclopedia articles, then there is no need for two
    projects at all.

RMS: The practical difference is that he wants not to have editorial
control.  But also, he wants to be independent.  He doesn't want to be
working under a company.  I think he has found people with similar
ideas who want to work with him.

RMS: Maybe there is no inherent reason why a project of this kind should
not be part of Nupedia.  But given the personal situation, I think
that it needs to be separate.  It will enable him and the people he
has found to keep working in a way they feel comfortable with, and
produce useful work.

RMS:So let's go ahead with the plan that the GNU Project endorses Nupedia
principally, but also sponsors the alternate encyclopedia to
complement Nupedia.
