I agree that such a classification of articles would be useful.

I disagree that it should go into the actual article repository. None
of this type of meta-data should appear in the repository. Remember,
the goal is to produce a wide array of FDL-licensed content; is
classifying it now going to make sense later (i.e. 10, 20, 50 years
from now)? The answer, I think, is no and hence such classification
data shouldn't appear in the repository of articles.
