[Bug-gnupedia] About the future

Finally, some sensible progress. :-)

I've recently received this message from RMS:

However, any one project is only a part of the Free Universal
Encyclopedia. There's room for more than one project. So I think we should continue to host your project, but under a different name--perhaps "the alternate encyclopedia pages".

Well, I think this is the best solution for all this issue. This project (Findaname -- the alternate encyclopedia pages) will work with > our ideas (no editorial control, accept any contribution as long as it > contains useful information, etc). Nupedia will keep doing their with > their methods. So we'll have two encyclopedia projects:

Nupedia: The GNU Encyclopedia with a hard-editorial-controlled articles

and

Findaname -- tha alternate encyclopedia pages: with everything useful.

Ok. This is not the final decision. I've just said to RMS that I agree > with
that solution.

Please, keep in mind the this project will have to manage much more
information than Nupedia. So we have to define a good structure.

I would really like to begin working on a rudimentary FAQ for the Free Universal Encyclopedia. Currently it seems there are 2 projects which fall under the umbrella of the Free Universal Encyclopedia (GNE, anyone?).

Project 1 consists of strict editorially controlled articles and is currently called Nupedia.

Project 2 consists of looosely controlled articles and Hector is calling it FindAName. I personally don't care too much for that name hut it helps to distinguish.

Unless someone is already maintaining the FAQ for the FUE/GNE I would like to start one up myself. Please let me know if one (or something like it already exists).

Does have a recommendation for where this FAQ could be hosted? Tiki, or elsewhere?

Thanks, Much!
