Yeah, Alexandria is a really cool name.

But there is already a project called
"Alexandria" on http://www.alexandria.de";
that exists since 1997.

It is some sort of virtual library, intended
to be about the man and all he/she created,
literature, arts, science, philosophy.
Just like the library of Alexandria. The guy
who is doing this writes that in his project
statement. Alas there is nothing about copy-
righting or any kind of license.

But there is not that much content right now.
Some articles about minerals, lots of lyrics,
entries on religion (from a atheist's point of
view).
Ralf Eichinger (the editor) seems to have done
all that on his own. He also writes that his
project is non-commercial and financed privatly.

I emailed him about his license policy and asked
if he knew Nupedia or GNUPedia. I haven't got
an answer at the moment.

I guess he has a similar vision in mind but he
is not aware of the problem of intellectual
property.
I don't know why he hasn't looked for support
by volonteers.

I haven't told him about the plans to call
GNUPedia "Alexandria" because at the moment I
wrote the mail the idea had not existed yet.

I will keep you up to date about this.
