It may be nearer to /. than you think. Any encyclopedia that allows
unsolicited input will get vast amounts, especially if it's a popular
one, and most unsolicited entries are unlikely to be by credited
authors (though I hope we will get our fair share). Some entries may
even be anonymous (btw. are we planning to require name+address, or
will we accept hotmail addresses?) and we will have to decide what to
do about that too...

In additon to the entries we want, there will be pressure groups and
extreme political parties, attempting to influence the content of the
encyclopedia. We can expect article on the 3rd Reich by the like of Dr.
David Irving and his cronies (do you remember the "trial of history"
last year in the UK when the bozo was denying the holocaust?). So,
basically, we'll get everything...

And then, as I said, there will be very well written, well researched
but anonomous article submitted. Imagine a dissident Islamic cleric
writing about Islam in Iran, or a Falungong member in China, or a white
farmer in Zimbabwe. What will we do with their entries?

It's not easy...
