Running TkGNATS/GNATS

I have just installed TkGNATS and GNATS on one of our servers. I ran tkgnats
and tried to send a 
PR to the db. It sent it correctly. When I went to Query the db for the PR
it returned with 0 entries.
I took a look at the directories in GNATS_ROOT and
../gnats-db/gnats-adm/gnats-queue contained the
PRs. 

It seems that I need to be running something additional (like maybe the
gnatsd daemon). But when I built
tkgnats I set GNATS = local (no daemon).  I've enclosed the Config file that
is printed under Help.
What else should I check ?
