Andrew,

The Apple Installer package from MySQL.com installs into /usr/local/mysql
(well, more specifically, into a version specific directory tree which is then
symlinked to /usr/local/mysql). Thus, searching in /usr/local/lib and
/usr/local/include will not find anything on a Mac OS X client machine.

Please, consider the proposal by Marius to allow specifying the path to

the include files for MySQL (and iODBC) when calling configure.

It seems to me that headers and libraries in /usr/local/ are available

by default. Or am I mistaken?
