Hi,
Hi Peter,
I've got a PDF file that I use 'convert' to convert from PDF to JPG
and it works fine on my laptop but not on the server. They're both
Ubuntu linuxes and one of the differences is the CPU. Mine's 32bit
and the server is 64bit. When I was working on this bug reproduction
I made sure the versions of the various programs where the same.
This is what happens when I try to convert the attached PDF to JPG:
$ convert "Skyways.pdf[0]" "Skyways.jpg"
convert: Postscript delegate failed `Skyways.pdf'.
$ convert -version
Version: ImageMagick 6.2.4 11/24/06 Q16 http://www.imagemagick.org
Copyright: Copyright (C) 1999-2005 ImageMagick Studio LLC
$ gs --version
8.15.2
This version is a little bit to old for using on 64bits I think, can
you upgrade gs please ? The last GNU release is 8.55 and a 8.56.0 will
be released soon.
Also What is the release of gs ? AFPL, ESP, GPL, GNU ?? The naming
scheme can be interpreted as esp-ghostscript and you are on the gnu
mailing-list for the GNU version of gs ;) But don't worry, the codebase
is very similar.
[...]
Still no good explaination why the JPG can't be created from the PDF
on the 64bit server. That's when I did an strace (log file attached).
I hope this helps. I can provide more details if you need them.
always interesting to found this type of bugs but please update your
version before more work can be done on this issue.
Best regards,
Peter
Best regards.
