The update to gawk 5.2.1 has caused two issues:
1) Machines running on the arm64 architecture don’t automatically have x86_64
support. The user has first to manually enable Rosetta, and then build at least
gettext-runtime as universal to get libintl.dylib for x86_64. See:

2) It completely ignores the fact that there are still PPC machines in use.
