ok, got myself a snapshot from the above commit, and a current gnulib snapshot, 
struggled a little with finding out how to bootstrap (import-gnulib.sh works 
great btw, even on interix :)).

everything looks great, limits for xargs ok, and it works to let it crawl 
through some tons of files :)
