Yes, this is a bug. The bug was introduced in findutils version
4.2.19 and was fixed in version 4.2.22. The current stable release of
findutils (4.2.23, see ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/findutils) therefore
contains this fix. See also

The findutils test suite should contain a test case for this problem -
and many other tests - but is still rather incomplete and lacks this
check among others.
